Bonnie
has been a nurse for over 40 years, graduating from nursing school in southern
California. Her extensive
experience includes pediatrics, medical-surgical, nursery, physician's offices.
University Student Health center and infirmary, Neuro intensive care, public
health, Hospice, inpatient psychiatric and outpatient community mental health.
Always
interested in alternative medical therapies, she began her journey into holistic
nursing in 1992. She first began a
certification program in Healing Touch. This eventually led her to the certification program in
Holistic Nursing, which was to forever change her nursing career.
Aside from all the disciplines she was required to explore, experience,
research and write papers on, she was also introduced to multiple alternative
therapies, including Rayid iridology, toning and sound therapy, Reiki, music
therapy, aromatherapy, and other vibrational medicine techniques and
technologies. The latter included
the Quantum QXCI, LIFE quantum technology and the SCENAR, all of which she
received extensive training in and still uses in her practice.
She is a trained Third Degree Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapist and a
certified biofeedback technician. After
fulfilling internships in both Healing Touch and Holistic Nursing, she received
her certification as a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (CHTP) in 1998 and
graduated from the Holistic Nurse Program as a Board Certified Holistic Nurse (HNC)
in 1999.
There
are less than 2000 certified Holistic nurses in the USA and it is a recognized
specialty by the American Nurses Association.
Becoming a certified Holistic Nurse was the most significant thing Bonnie
did for her nursing career and it has changed her whole way of looking at health
and healing. No longer are patient
complaints, symptoms and their medical diagnoses of disease the main focus of
practice, but rather the whole person as a unique individual comprised of body,
mind, emotion and spirit.. It is
this whole unique individual that is being challenged by their health issue, not
just their physical body. And their
process of healing includes their personal interconnectedness to loved ones,
friends, spirituality, work, cultural ethnicity, and their environment. Margaret
Newman, the nursing theorist Bonnie chose as her holistic model of nursing for
her certification process and practice, professed as her holistic nursing theory
“HEALTH AS EXPANDING CONSCIOUSNESS”. (If
interested in an overview of this, go to: www.healthasexpandingconsciousness.org
). It wasn’t long after
graduation that Bonnie began to see the impact of that theory as she helped her
clients to utilize this in their process of healing.
To that end she wrote the following as a guide and a commitment to
herself and all future clients that she would participate in co-creating
self-actualization within the framework of health and wellness:

In 1999,
Bonnie relinquished her participation in allopathic nursing to work full time as
a Holistic Nurse with a private practice in alternative health.
In working with some of the quantum health assessment and balancing
technologies, she began to see repetitive patterns of health challenges in her
clients. These revolved around
digestive deficiencies and the resulting cascade of distressful, and often
chronic symptoms. Even though she
could get them balanced and feeling better, they would later return with many of
the same complaints and issues. This
became frustrating for both client and practitioner!
Determined to find the foundational reason for this vicious cycle, her search led her to Dr. Loomis and The Loomis Institute of Health and Enzyme Nutrition. Dr. Loomis is the national leading authority, researcher and developer of Enzyme Replacement Therapy (ERT) and Viscero-somatic Stress Management™. He has been involved in the clinical use of enzymes for health and healing for over 25 years. He has found that most of us by age 50 are already enzyme deficient, especially if we are eating a cooked diet. This is because heat kills the live enzymes in our food so necessary to our health and the maintenance of homeostasis. And we become more and more deficient as we age. It is the stress of this deficiency that causes most of our chronic degenerative symptoms, which, if not corrected, leads to disease. Finding this foundational link to health and well-being lead to her entering the educational program at the Institute. After extensive schooling, she graduated as a certified Viscero-Somatic Stress Management™ Specialist in the clinical use of enzyme therapy, and is now an advanced practitioner. She is proud to present a health program to her clients that is individually based on the clients specific health challenges, medically based without the use of drugs, holistic, accurate in identifying clinical and sub-clinical health issues, and a program that produces consistent results. It is both life and health changing!
